This year my little monkey earned her trip to Disneyland through the Girl Scout Cookie Program. She sold enough boxes for her to qualify for the Disneyland Turnaround trip in June. We made a chart for her see how much she sold and how close or far she was from that goal.
When she first started the process, her quota per day was 18 boxes per day so she would call her customers or go door to door until she hit her 18 boxes. When she did booths, they gave her a quota after 1.5 hours and then she would do door to door for an additional 5-8 boxes. With the help of family and friends who made up a chunk of 30% of her sales, she easily jumped ahead to having to sell only 8 boxes a day. She met her goal with roughly a week to go in the season.
After she met her goal, like her mother she came to me and said, “Mom, I’m ready to plan my trip to Disneyland.” My planning bones beamed! Without any nudging or influence, this was her dream Disneyland list.
With my foresight, I have created her schedule with all her items on the list. And here is what we ended up with.
If all goes well, my little monkey will get all her wishes that she worked for from selling her cookies everyday. A great reward for a hard working Girl Scout. Thank you Girl Scouts for helping her experience something that is all her own.
